YOYO GIFT CARD MARKETPLACE
REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Digital gift cards are issued immediately upon successful payment. Once issued, gift card purchases are non-refundable except where required by law.
Version 1.0 | 22 June 2026
1 ABOUT THIS POLICY
This refund and cancellation policy applies to all purchases of digital Gift Cards made through the Platform (yoyorewards.com), operated by Yoyo SA Services (Pty) Ltd (“Yoyo”). This policy forms part of, and must be read together with, the Yoyo gift card marketplace Terms and Conditions available on the Yoyo gift card marketplace website (“Terms and Conditions”). Defined terms used in this policy have the meanings given in the Terms and Conditions.
2 INSTANT ISSUANCE
Gift Cards are issued to the Recipient immediately upon successful payment by the Sender. The Gift Card is delivered to the Recipient’s mobile number via WhatsApp message or SMS at the time of purchase. Because the Gift Card is issued and delivered instantly upon payment, there is no processing window during which a purchase can be reversed before issuance.
3 CANCELLATION
Due to the fact that Gift Cards are issued instantly upon successful payment, there is no window between payment and issuance during which a cancellation can be actioned as a contractual matter. Once payment is confirmed and the Gift Card is dispatched to the Recipient’s mobile number, the order is complete and cannot be cancelled except as provided by applicable law.
4 NON-REFUNDABLE
4.1 Gift Card purchases are non-refundable once issued, except where required by applicable law. This applies to both the face value of the Gift Card and the Processing Fee charged to the Sender.
4.2 Once a Gift Card has been issued, we will not refund the purchase price regardless of whether the Gift Card has been redeemed by the Recipient or not.
5 EXCEPTION
5.1 Gift Cards may only be replaced or refunded if they are defective. You must let us know as soon as possible, but within 6 months of delivery, if a Recipient is having trouble using a Gift Card or if the Gift Card is defective (for example, if the WiCode does not work).
5.2 We will investigate the problem and, if you qualify, we will issue a replacement Gift Card or process a refund as appropriate.
6 YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS
Nothing in this policy removes or limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act No. 68 of 2008 or any other applicable South African legislation. If you believe you are entitled to cancellation and a refund under applicable law, please contact us using the details in clause 9, below.
7 PROCESSING FEE
The Processing Fee charged to the Sender (currently 5% of the Gift Card face value plus VAT, subject to a minimum of R5.00 per Gift Card) is non-refundable in all circumstances once the Gift Card has been issued, except where required by applicable law.
8 INCORRECT RECIPIENT AND DELIVERY ISSUES
8.1 If a Gift Card was sent to an incorrect mobile number and has not yet been redeemed, the registered Sender may update the Recipient’s mobile number through Purchase History in their Yoyo gift card marketplace account, whereas the guest Sender must get in touch with us via Contact Us.
8.2 Once the Gift Card has been fully or partially redeemed, no correction is possible. We are not liable for Gift Cards sent to incorrect mobile numbers provided by the Sender.
8.3 If a Recipient has not received their Gift Card, the Sender may resend it via ‘Resend Gift Card’ on the Platform.
9 HOW TO REQUEST A REFUND
9.1 If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable law, please contact our support team via the contact form at Contact Us.
9.2 Please include the following with your request: your name, invoice number, date of purchase, and the reason for your refund request.
9.3 We will acknowledge your request within 2 Business Days and provide a substantive response within 10 Business Days.
10 ACCEPTANCE AND RECORD-KEEPING
By completing a purchase on the Platform, you confirm that you have read and accepted this refund and cancellation policy. A record of your acceptance is retained by us, including: the timestamp of acceptance, invoice ID, date, IP address and browser details and the version of the Terms and Conditions and this refund and cancellation policy accepted at the time of purchase. This record may be produced in the event of a payment dispute, chargeback, or regulatory inquiry.
11 CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this refund and cancellation policy from time to time. The updated policy will be published on the website with a revised version number and effective date. The version of the refund and cancellation policy accepted by the Sender at the time of purchase will govern that transaction.
